David Berthiaume

In 2003, David Berthiaume  participated to the foundation of OLEOTEK inc. (now Centre Kemitek), a College Center for Technology Transfer specialised in oleochemistry. Starting from 2006, he was nominated Executive Director and, under his direction, Kemitek could establish itself as a center of expertise of international caliber in green chemistry and chemical process scale-up. The center is now recognised as a Canadian Technology Access Center (TAC). Through multiple industrial collaborations, Kemitek continues to participate to the commercialization of new technologies for the chemical industry.

Mr. Berthiaume is involved in many activities; he participated to many boards and committees such as National Research Council Canada (NRC), Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), Tech-Access Canada, Quebec Biodiesel Council (CQB), Trans-tech Network / Synchronex, Thetford Technopole, Thetford Economic Diversification Committee. He was also involved politically by chairing a local association and running as a candidate in the Canadian general election of 2015. Previous to his role at Kemitek, Mr Berthiaume worked as Director of production for Matrix Innovation, a company producing specialty chemicals. Mr Berthiaume obtained an MBA from Laval University in 2005 and a M.Sc. in physiology-endocrinology from the CHUL Research Center in 2001. He now pursues a Law Certificate at Laval University.
