While many labs chase the next big breakthrough, a local company will be helping them do so sustainably.
GreenCentre Canada, located at Innovation Park, is introducing a new service called GreenLab Assessment Program, which ultimately aims to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions and waste from labs. (An ultra-low temperature freezer, for example, drains as much power as an average household per day.)
The program will identify and support the development, testing and evaluation of new ideas on making labs more efficient.
The Greenlab Assessment Program is funded through the Ontario government’s “Partners in Climate Action” grant program, which is in itself funded by the government’s carbon market.
